Central Park Bridle Path Tour
ABOUT THE TOUR:
Lace up your sneakers and see Central Park from a different perspective on this urban hike along the bridle path.
For this experience, we get away from the hustle and bustle of the park drives and main pedestrian paths and instead we enjoy the park’s stunning landscape along this beautiful, peaceful, and uncrowded gravel-and-dirt trail. (The bridle path was built for horseback riding!)
Although the focus of this activity is to enjoy a peaceful “nature” walk, we’ll also see and learn about historic arches, park gates, Sheep Meadow, the Reservoir, and more.
DETAILS:
Start: Maine Monument, Merchants’ Gate (Columbus Circle entrance to Central Park).
End: Gate of All Saints, Central Park West and West 96th Street.
Walking Distance: Approximately 2.3 miles on easy-to-moderate terrain.
Tour Duration: 60–80 minutes.
Group Size: 8 (maximum).
Accessibility Note: The bridle path is generally not recommended for wheelchair users because of its soft, uneven dirt and gravel surface.
