Meri is a New Yorker with a deep love of world travel.
She began her producing career with an internship on a nightly live music tv show overlooking Madison Square Park in NYC, where she realized that working in tv and film could mean that she’d more often “get to do the work,” than “have to.”
Meri has produced, written, and directed hundreds of hours of unscripted content for major platforms.
Through thirty years of this immersive unscripted work, Meri has embedded herself in the worlds of fashion, competitive high school science, haute cuisine, stand-up comedy, Spring Break in Cancun, a horse farm in New Jersey, Huda Beauty’s headquarters in Dubai, and an independent wrestling company started by the Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan in Chicago.
She has won an Emmy, a Critics Choice Real TV Award, and a Webby. She has worked on films that have premiered at SXSW and Tribeca.
Her proudest credits include Project Runway, Top Chef, Human Resources, It Started As A Joke, 30 Days: Muslims In America, James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction, Science Fair: The Series, and the documentary she was surely born to make on the film Airplane!
Meri is a licensed New York City tour guide and the owner / operator of Footnotes* New York Tours.
She also serves as a docent at MOFAD (The Museum of Food and Drink). Her favorite New York things include autumn, dim sum, the movie Party Girl, dog runs for little dogs, Brooklyn Bridge Park, WhatIsNewYork Instagram, and running into people randomly as if there aren’t 8 million people here.
She currently lives in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, with her husband, Lee, who is an artist and also works at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They live with their Italian Greyhound-Chihuahua mix, Fritz.
She is obsessed with artificial intelligence, but this bio was not generated by a large language model.
